But let’s get serious. The horses at Timothy Hill aren’t just fun and fashionable, they have a very important function in our program. Here are just a few of the important things they can do for us:

Emotional intelligence. A horse can teach us a lot about fear, respect, joy, levity, and much more. They’re big, strong, stubborn, and often hilarious.

Teaching hard work. Horses take a lot of care to keep, especially if you want them to be ridable. But once you’ve built that bond and ride a horse in an open field, every bit of work is worth it.

Therapy. It is amazing to see the young men at the ranch interact with the horses. One therapist said, “An afternoon with horses can equal months of talking in a room!” Working with horses opens our more caring nature. We learn to serve, love and express ourselves in different ways.
What amazing, beautiful and sometimes silly creatures God has made!
